
Our Head Chef, Tiffany, is known for her scrumptious desserts and we are so excited to share with you her special recipe for Sugar Cookies. They are the perfect dessert to pair with your Easter Dinner.
Sugar Cookie Ingredients
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 1/2 cups butter, softened at room temperature
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl and set aside.
- In another large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Once fluffy and lightened in colour, whisk in the eggs one at a time. Once eggs are fully incorporated, add the vanilla.
- Slowly add dry ingredients to the wet and stir gently to combine.
- Wrap dough tightly and chill in the refrigerator for at least a half hour.
- Roll out dough to 1/4″ thickness and cut to desired shapes. Bake in a preheated oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes.
Royal Icing Ingredients
- 3 cups icing sugar
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 6 teaspoons corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 meringue powder
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients together well and colour if desired. Spread evenly on cookies or use icing bags to decorate. Icing dries hard in approximately an hour.
